Mining Villages Festival
Celebrating the heritage and spirit of the Cornish mining communities

Saturday 14th – Sunday 22nd August 2010

The Mining Villages Festival was founded in 2008 inspired by the success of activities organised by the Mineral Tramways Project, which wound down that year.

The Festival is a nine-day programme of events organised by villages linked by the Mineral Tramways trails. Each village is steeped in the history and culture of Cornish mining but has its own distinct character. The Mining Villages Festival is a chance for visitors and residents alike to explore and find out more about these fascinating communities

Events vary from year to year but are guaranteed to feature

HISTORY, WALKS, ART, MUSIC AND LOTS OF FAMILY FUN!

The Mining Villages Festival is funded by the people of the villages involved through voluntary efforts, community groups and parish councils. Funding for this website was received from Kerrier District Council.
